At SoftwareOrbits, we partnered with Virginia Statewide Incidents LLC to strengthen and
scale real-time public safety reporting across the Commonwealth of Virginia. The mission of this
partnership was to build a reliable, fast, and structured digital platform that delivers live Fire,
EMS, and Police incident updates without the limitations of social media.
Our objective was to help VA Statewide Incidents evolve from a social-media-first operation
into a professional, statewide digital news and incident platform—one that offers real-time
access, location-based clarity, and long-term scalability while maintaining the trust they have
built with their audience.
Virginia Statewide Incidents had already established a strong following, with over 11,000+
followers and 2,000+ incident posts across Instagram and Facebook. However, relying solely on
social platforms introduced several critical challenges:
Limited reach due to social media algorithms
Lack of searchable and structured incident data
Difficulty organizing incidents by location and category
No centralized digital hub for statewide coverage
Restricted monetization and long-term growth opportunities
As incident volume increased, it became clear that social media alone could not support the
scale, speed, and reliability required for real-time public safety reporting. The challenge was to
create a dedicated platform that preserved posting speed while adding structure, discoverability,
and professional credibility
